Working with Young People who Offend

The Working with Young People who Offend WWYPWO training program is a practical hands on one day training workshop designed to build skills that increase workers capacity to both challenge and engage young people who choose to offend.

Within the one day workshop participants are provided information that relates to young offenders by working through the following sessions:

  • Exploring Offending
  • Theory/ Guide to practice
  • What we know

Participants are then supported to commence development of resources that support them in their work with young offenders, through conceptional development of individual and group sessions for young offenders in the following areas:

  • Challenging Offending
  • Temptations and Self Control (Individualising Offending Behaviour
  • Victims of Crime (Developing Empathy)
  • Police (Myths and Stereotypes)
  • Your Rights
  • Being Inside

This training workshop has provided me many new ideas and strategies to engage with young offenders, Mark is a very dynamic and knowledgeable trainer
