Sense of Community

Sense of Community is an 8 x 2 hour session program for 11-14 year old young people that impresses on the participants the importance of being part of a community, fostering development and understanding of the things that build strong communities. The Sense of Community Program covers the areas of Public Space, Harassment and Bullying, Crime Prevention and Crime Prevention Reporting, Property Damage, Stealing and Shoplifting, Graffiti and Vandalism.

Participants of the program are engaged as valuable/important members of their respective communities and through the program have their capacity developed to be independent thinkers when peers engage in behaviours that damage community facilities and harmony.

The Sense of Community Program has been recognised and funded Federal Government National Community Crime Prevention program through the Juvenile Justice and Department of Housing.
