
Camp Chic
Camp Chic is an emotional literacy development program for 13-18 year old young women, that provides education through information in the areas of self esteem, body image, sexual health, problem solving, relationships, goal setting, career planning, money management and drug & alcohol.
Young women who participate in the program are provided information that supports capacity to make positive informed decisions about themselves and their relationships.
The program can be delivered as a 3 day camp, over 2 full days or 8 x 2 hour sessions and also involves follow up focus groups 6 months and 12 months post program to facilitate measurement of participant learning outcomes and ongoing refinement of the program.
Within a community partnership approach with Ulladulla Youth Centre, Wanga Indiingi, Gudhuga Aboriginal Corporation, Ulladulla High School , under the umbrella (Unlocking My Potential), Camp Chic sessions as a 8 x 2 hour sessional program have been delivered to over 120 young women from the Illawarra, Shoalhaven and Eurobodalla.
Camp Chic as a sessional program has just been independently evaluated displaying strong evidence in regard to its success in the areas of voluntary participation, participant value, anti social behaviour, school participation and retention.
