Boys 2 Men
Is a health and personal development program for 13-18 year old young men, that provides education through information in the areas of image (how men look and behave), same and cross gender relationships, role models, peer groups, sexual health, problem solving, goal setting, career planning, money management and drug & alcohol.
Boys 2 Men program can be delivered as a 3 day camp, over 2 full days or 8 x 2 hour sessions and also involves follow up focus groups 6 and 12 months post program to facilitate measurement of participant learning outcomes and ongoing refinement of the program.
In community based partnerships approach with Ulladulla Youth Centre, Ulladulla High School, Cooma Youth Centre and the Dunn & Lewis Youth Development Foundation Boys 2 Men has attracted both state government and philanthropic funding.
Boys 2 Men has also been selected and featured in Greenstone Group's national launch of a 23 project philanthropic Social Investment Guide in both Sydney and Melbourne.

Camp Chic
Is a health and personal development program for 13-18 year old young women, that provides education through information in the areas of self esteem, body image, sexual health, problem solving, relationships, goal setting, career planning, money management and drug & alcohol.
The program can be delivered as a 3 day camp, over 2 full days or 8 x 2 hour sessions and also involves follow up focus groups 6 months and 12 months post program to facilitate measurement of participant learning outcomes and ongoing refinement of the program.
Within a community partnership approach with Ulladulla Youth Centre, Ulladulla High School , under the umbrella (Unlocking My Potential), Camp Chic sessions as a 8 x 2 hour sessional program have been delivered to over 120 young women from the Southern Shoalhaven.
Strong anecdotal evidence of the success of the program are being measured in the areas of school participation and retention, positive growth in family relationships, lowered risk taking and improved feelings of self. The program and anecdotal success evidence is to be presented to the Institute of Group Leaders for national group work endorsement in November 08.
Problem Solving
Is a three day camp or sessional program for young people 13-18 years of age, that assists their individual development of problem solving strategies. Areas in the program include Problem Identification, Managing our Emotions, Responding/Reacting, Breaking down the problem (Circle exercise), Assertiveness, Communication, Negotiation and Mediation.
This program has been delivered to young people within residential and community settings. The Problem Solving program is fully evaluated and all indicators are young people who participate have significantly increased skills and confidence when the need to problem solve arises.
Challenging Offending
Is a three day camp or sessional based diversionary program for young people 13-18 years of age and specifically focuses on offending. The Challenging Offending program is a practical approach to working in groups with young offenders and youth at risk, however some of the sessions can be adapted into individual counselling sessions with young people. Areas covered in the program include Exploring Offending, Temptations and Self Control, Victims of Crime, Police, Courts, Being Inside, Rights and Rules.
Willow Tree Training Pty Ltd, through its Director, Mark Ettridge has overseen the implementation of this program into residential and correctional settings. Willow Tree Training Pty Ltd was also engaged by the South Australian Attorney Generals Department to implement this program into a community setting. This involved training of workers in a LGA to deliver the Challenging Offending Program as an early intervention model.
Drug and Alcohol
Is a three day camp or sessional program, providing young people 14-18 years of age information and education around drugs and alcohol. Areas covered in the program include Values, Opinions, What is a drug?, Cause and Effect, Why do we use?, Drug Laws, Addictive Behaviour, Harm Minimisation, Risky Situations, Harsh Realities, Support Services, Goal Setting and Relaxation.
This program has been implemented within residential, correctional and community settings with participants engaging and providing feedback of a positive nature in regards to what they have learnt through the program. The program breaks down the myths and misunderstandings around the impact of drugs and alcohol in our lives. Willow Tree Training Pty Ltd, through its Director Mark Ettridge, was acknowledged for work with young people in the area of Drug and Alcohol education being awarded the Harry Jenkins Fellow Award through the Australian Lions Drug and Alcohol Foundation.
Sense of Community
Is an 8 x 2 hour session program for 11-14 year old young people that impresses on the participants the importance of being part of a community, fostering development and understanding of the things that build strong communities. The Sense of Community Program covers the areas of Public Space, Harassment and Bullying, Crime Prevention and Crime Prevention Reporting, Property Damage, Stealing and Shoplifting, Graffiti and Vandalism.
Participants of the program are engaged as valuable/important members of their respective communities and through the program have their capacity developed to be independent thinkers when peers engage in behaviours that damage community facilities and harmony.
The Sense of Community Program has been recognised and funded Federal Government National Community Crime Prevention program through the Juvenile Justice and Department of Housing.
Train the Trainer
Each of the programs above can be trained into local Government areas through utilising localised workers in a five day intensive training program. Willow Tree Training Pty Ltd recommneds four LGA workers be trained as facilitators, which provides the required diversity to ensure the ongoing delivery of the program. This involves 2 x 3 day residentials two weeks apart, and two weeks later a final day.
